Abstract

We are developing a practical use case of thermoelectric devices which convert heat into electricity by utilizing unused thermal energy. We chose a cogeneration system as one of the targets and examined the generation of electricity using warm drainage. First, we designed a suitable flow path and found a structure that could increase the temperature difference between hot and cold sides of thermoelectric material by 30% in comparison with a simple flow path structure. Next, we experimentally measured the output voltage Vo=9.4V, and the output electric power, Pmax=0.76W at the heat source temperature difference of ΔT=53.5°C using the designed flow path.
