Abstract
A numerical and experimental study was made on chaos in thermal convection in porous layer heated from below, concentrating on the microscopic inertial effect. The existence of the microscopic chaos of the order of the porous structures was experimentally and numerically confirmed. Local lyapunov exponents distributions are compared with convection and entropy generation patterns.
