Abstract
Inside wall of an upper half of a vertical cylinder was heated uniformly with a lower half wall thermally insulated. Top and bottom of the cylinder are open to ambient air. An electric coil was placed around the cylinder to induce a strong magnetic field. Numerical computation was carried out for natural ventilated flow due to the magnetic field. For the system of coil diameter 10r_0 with r_0 of a cylinder radius, volume flow rate of natural ventilation and velocity and temperature profiles were studied. For (Ra)^*=1000,coil location at 5 r_0 from the inlet, volume flow-increased 25% at γ=100 and 148% at γ=1000.
