Abstract
Different woods have large difference of tactile warmth in spite of the small difference of their material properties. The contact surface temperature can explain the large difference of tactile warmth for various woods rationally and theoretically. But it is difficult to measure the contact surface temperature. In this paper, the heat flux from human's hand to various woods was treated and was obtained from theoretical analysis for semi-infinite body contact model and the plate contact model. The heat flux from hand to various woods was also measured. The measured heat flux was compared with the calculated ones and both were coincident with each other well.
