Abstract
Effect of heating period on thermal conductivity measurement of SiC refractory by the cyclic heat method, which is one of the measuring methods of thermal diffusivity, is investigated using an apparatus which has been manufactured by the authors. In the previous study, we reported the results on thermal conductivity measurement of SiC refractory and the effect of SiC content, but at that stage, we could not confirm the accuracy of measurement. From the present study, the heating period is found to have a considerable effect on the accuracy of measurement. Based on the preliminary measurement using SUS 304 specimen with known thermal conductivity, the thermal conductivity of SiC refractory is measured again.
