Abstract
Improvement of CO_2 Recovery Power Plant with O_2/CO_2 Combustion is studied. In O_2 production process, the following optimizations are proposed, (i) single rectification column is adopted instead of double rectification column to reduce the energy consumption for compression of air, (ii) optimum operating pressure and O_2 purity are determined to minimize the total energy consumption. And energy consumption for O_2 production is calculated. In result, energy consumption in optimized process is reduced by 13% compared with conventional ones. In natural gas fired power generation plant, cold exergy of LNG is available for O_2 production process, and the reduction of energy consumption goes up to 37%. The net power generation efficiency of O_2/CO_2 combustion system can be improved by 3∿4% compared with reference values.
