Abstract
An analysis is presented to predict on the transient thermal behavior regarding the permafrost formation taking account of periodic heating and cooling at the surface. Based on the preceding studies for the frozen-melting behavior of thermal active layer, it is important to understand the thermal structure in the deep underground from a viewpoint of the global climate changes in mid- and long-term perspectives. The numerical calculations are speculated to treat the boundary conditions at deep end and extended to account for the geothermal energy as well.
