Abstract
Spatial distribution characteristic of the out of plane displacement of winkled membranes was investigated through the statistic analysis for the experimental results of the rectangular wrinkled membranes under shear loadings. The out of plane displacement of wrinkled membranes, held fixed at top and bottom edge and subjected to shear loading at top edge, were treated. The analysis results show that the spatial distribution of the out of plane displacement of the membranes does not follow the normal distribution and log-normal distribution. However, focusing on the average and the standard deviation of the out of plane displacement of the membrane, it turned out that these statistics follow theoretical models such as normal distribution and log-normal distribution.
