Abstract
The purpose of this study was development a foot joint model by the finite element method for the analysis of physical exercise and sports. The shape of the finite element foot joint model was described from the anatomical data, and the solid model was defined after simplifying that model. The finite element mesh was made from the solid model using MSC. Patran, and the linear static analysis was solved by MSC. Nastran. The displacement of inside arch high in vertical load (300N) by the experiment using cadaver foot was reported with 2.90mm, the result of that in Case 4 in this study was 2.70mm. The plantar flexion angle of the calcaneus in the experiment was 1.83 deg. and that in this study on Case 4 was 3.0 deg. It is considered that the motion pattern of foot model in this simulation at vertical loading is similar to that of experiment qualitatively.
