Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the matching characteristics between dynamic performance of golf club and golf swing motion. At first, bending strain and bending moment of the four different types of shafts upon swinging were measured and dynamic performance of golf clubs was analyzed. Second, three-dimensional (3-D) golf swing motion was analyzed. Furthermore, joint torque required for the down swing was calculated using rigid body link model. Third, joint torque considered bending moment of shafts on swinging. The results indicate that by relating flexural rigidity with deflection of the shaft before impact, the characteristics of golf club matching with each player have been obtained.
