Abstract
In this paper, we assessed sand wedge shape properties of actual products by modeling the wedges on a computational simulation model using particle element method (PEM), one of particle simulation method. The PEM is a simulation method which simulates particle phenomenon by tracing the motion of all particles and calculating the interaction among the particles. The simulation model is composed of a club head, a golf ball and a large number of particles of sand. Reproducibility of the simulation model was verified by comparing with actual bunker shot. And we assessed property of a sand wedges which has a hollow processed on the sole by comparing with a normal sand wedge.
