Abstract
Oscillatory flow heat transfer is an essential design factor of the regenerator and heat exchangers of Stirling cycle refrigerator. In the previous study, the effect of oscillating boundary layer on heat transfer characteristic was discussed. The separation is observed every half cycle of the oscillation since velocity direction changed and velocity accelerated and the local heat transfer coefficient was increased at the point where the separation occurred. In this study, experimental investigations were conducted covering wide Ra and Re ranges. Consequently, the flow pattern was classified by use of Ra and Re numbers.
