Abstract
Behavior of fluid interface on solid surface (contact line) has large effect on boiling, condensing, or coating. But detail flow field is still unclear. In this study, flow field in the vicinity of the contact line is measured by Particle Imaging Velocimetry (PIV) technique. Comparison of the experimental velocity distribution to the analytical model by Huh^(1) shows that the Huh's model reproduces the flow field well so far as the tangential velocity on the interface is provided ; however the model fails to estimate the interfacial velocity itself. Additional experiments with liquids of different properties indicate that the variance in the surface tension should have considerably larger effect on the interface velocity than the viscosity.
