Abstract
In this paper, we suggest the advanced method of methane hydrate formation by α- and hydroxypropyl(HP)-β- cyclodextrin solutions. This mechanism was experimentally investigated by Raman spectroscopy. The induction time become 10-30 times shorter and formation speed become 2-4 times faster originated in the increased methane concentration of hydrate formation water by adding cyclodextrins. The Raman spectra of these hydrates were measured. The results indicate that Structure I methane hydrate was produced and methane exists in both Large and Small cages.
