Abstract

This paper is concerned with temperature drop and freezing for water with very small flow rate on an inclined V-shaped open channel in a low-temperature room. The relation between water surface velocity and flow rate is linear. The onset position of freezing and water flow rate show almost linear relationship. Additionally, the heat transfer coefficient decreases with increasing flow rate, however decreases more significantly when the flow rate is small.
