It is known that the flaming combustion duration of highly densified single cylindrical biomass briquettes is proportional to the product of the inverse square of the specific surface area and the briquette density. It is suggested that this proportional constant Cft depends on the briquette raw material and is proportional to the holocellulose ratio of it. In this study, to investigate the effects of holocellulose content in raw materials, cellulose (hemicellulose) content in holocellulose, and ash content in raw materials on Cft, briquettes were made of artificial raw materials made by adding cellulose, hemicellulose and ash to cypress, and the combustion experiments were carried out.
