Abstract

This study experimentally evaluated the heat transfer of a fin with built-in closed-loop selfoscillating heat pipe that has interconnecting channels. The test plate using for the fin is made of brass and consists of a small closed loop meandering flow path of 10 turns. Then, the interconnecting channel was processed to connect neighboring channels. Water and ethanol were used as the working fluid, and the effect of base temperature of the fin on the heat transfer performance of the fin with built-in closedloop self-oscillating heat pipe with and without interconnecting channels was investigated. The result showed that the improvement of fin efficiency by using interconnecting channels was obtained for higher base temperature of the fin.
