Abstract
The torsional rigidity of spot-welded box section beams in the automobile body structure has been investigated. To analyze it, the warping torsion theory of spot-welded beams was used and adapted to the box beam composed of two open section beams with different thickness sheets. The torsional rigidity of box beams with different thickness was compared with one of beam with same thickness. And then the new approximate formula for local warping of spot-welded parts was deduced.
