Abstract
This paper describes the influence of the wheelset static and dynamic unbalance on the wheelset vibration. In the case of the model used in numerical analyses, smaller static unbalance means lager dynamic unbalance and larger lateral vibration of the wheelset. So, it can not be said that the policy of reducing static unbalance to the minimum is best.
