Abstract
Into the new century JR-East considers we should give more comfortable space to passengers in railway vehicles. As to more comfortable lateral riding, the new-model railway vehicle, series E2-1000 Shinkansen, used in the same time we start a service at the new line from Morioka to Hachinohe, is fitted with full active vehicles with a high speed. This Paper is described the road to the paractical use of full acitve suspension system fitted prototypic vehicle, J51. This vehicle has been in a service from November 2001.
