Abstract
In its efforts to reduce levels of exhaust emission and fuel consumption, Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) is currently developing a large, hybrid-electric city bus which uses a market-proven diesel engine to drive the electric generator, hence not requiring a new infrastructure. This report describes the hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) system's specifications, the mechanism that enables the system's performance in the reduction of fuel consumption and exhaust emissions.
