Abstract
To suppress the vertical vibration of railway carbodies, the authors propose to control the force applied between bogie frames and wheel sets. Actuators are installed parallel to the axle springs in the bogies. The controller to determine the appropriate force generated by each actuator are designed based on the Linear Quadratic Guussian (LQG) theories, and numerical simulations are carried out. The results show that the control method effectively reduce the power spectral density (PSD) of acceleration on the floor.
