Abstract
This study deals with development of a traffic simulator as an evaluation tool for traffic flow. At first, real traffic flow was measured in urban area, as construction of driver model and the characteristics of real traffic flow were obtained. Next, we constructed the longitudinal traffic simulator which includes dynamic behavior of vehicles, control algorithm of drivers, and traffic environment. Using the results of the measurement of traffic flow, the models with each driver model are described real traffic condition. Finally, it is shown that driver characteristics in traffic flow influence traffic condition.
