Abstract
A single type self-powered active suspension, which carries out regeneration and active control with one actuator and requires no external energy, has been proposed by the authors. In this system, an electromagnetic damper, which is composed of a DC motor and a ball screw and nut, is utilized as the actuator. However it is known that isolation performance and energy balance of the single type self-powered system are affected by inertia of the ball screw and a rotator of the DC motor. Then the authors examine the influence of the inertia on the self-powered system and derive the condition under which the system operates well.
