We have developed a main circuit system using the DDM (Direct Drive Motor) as a new drive system for maintenance-free, improvement of motor efficiency and noise reduction. We have conducted a running test on A C Train (Advanced Commuter Train). In this paper, we report the development outline and test results of DDM.
