Abstract
This study proposes a fault detection method for a railway vehicle. The Interacting Multiple-Model (IMM) algorithm which choose probable model from multiple models using estimated results is applied to the fault detection. Two models are assumed for a normal vehicle model and a vehicle model with fault. The fault detection is examined from the estimated states of the two models using IMM algorithm. Simulation results show the method is effective for fault detection of the railway vehicle.
