Abstract
In order to achieve the target of 6% reduction of the output of carbon dioxide (CO_2) which is agreed in the Kyoto Protocol, the Japanese companies have been actively implementing necessary measures to reduce the amount of carbon dioxide generated from logistics activities. It is necessary to establish a quantitative calculation method to verify the extent of achievement. This paper outlines the current status and challenges of the method, and shows its prospects.
