Abstract
A new type seismic isolator system for the stay supported type tower crane is presented. The isolator system is divided into two parts. One is the isolator for the mast of the crane and is composed with a cubic four bar links, springs and dampers. The other is elastic stays. The natural period and the damping coefficient of the tower crane can be adjusted by these springs and dampers. Numerical simulations for a stay supported type tower crane with the presented seismic isolator system and that without seismic isolator are conducted. As the results, the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the presented isolator system.
