Abstract
The steering assist for the automobile gives possibility that the emergency avoidance performance in the human-vehicle system can improve. This paper examines about the variable characteristics steering system which can change the dynamic properties of the steering system as the steering assist system. Various composition of the variable characteristics steering system can be thought of but we analyze the characteristics of the way of using PID control by the computer simulation. As a result, it is clarified that the P-element and the D-element contribute for the emergency avoidance performance to improve.
