Abstract
At the time of the Niigata Chuetsu Earthquake, Shinkansen derailed for the first time in our country, but was able to prevent the secondary damage by the derailment because the train did not deviate largely from the track and stopped miraculously. In this article, the behavior of the buckling phenomenon of a train was analyzed likely to occurred after the derailment by the numerical simulation. And to reduce the damage by the derailment by the earthquake, the inspection results are derived that was performed by the 1/87 reduced scale model train experiments. To act on each coupler force to the pulling side by the braking force of the later vehicles is important, not to cause the train-buckling phenomenon.
