Abstract
To reveal a possibility of detecting the direction of the sound such as in-vehicle warning, authors conducted the indoor test using 15 young and 15 elderly subjects. Speaker positions were selected in six ways (three in the front, three back), sound pressure levels were set three types and five combinations of sound frequencies were adopted. On the results of experiment, we could reveal the difference of easiness of detecting the warning direction according to speaker positions and other factors.
