Abstract
In this study, we evaluated the contact stiffness between the wheel and the concrete track member after derailment to be used in the MBD analysis. Firstly, we conducted the static experiments using contact shoe to simulate the wheel flange shape to confirm fundamental characteristic of the contact stiffness. Secondly, we investigated the wheel marks that a derailed train made on slab track during an earthquake. Finally, we evaluated the effect of the contact stiffness on the wheel behaviors in the MBD analysis.
