Abstract
This paper describes preventive measures against deropement incidents in ropeways and chairlifts. In ropeways and chairlifts, it has been pointed out that accidents and incidents similar to those that happened in the past have recently occurred more frequently than before and it is necessary to take appropriate measures as soon as possible to prevent such accidents from recurring. We reported the statistical analysis results of ropeway and chairlift incidents in the past eight years. This statistical analysis includes cause analysis of the incidents and analysis of conditions in which similar incidents occurred. The results of similar incidents analysis showed the highest frequency of occurrence was in deropement incidents. Deropements in ropeways and chairlifts could cause serious accidents such as carrier falls and carrier collisions. This paper provides corrective actions to prevent deropement incidents based on the above analysis results.
