Abstract
Automatic pedestrian collision avoidance system that operates automatic steering and/or automatic braking to avoid collision with pedestrians is examined in this research. We simulate situation in which pedestrian suddenly walks across a road, and calculate the avoidance success rate. Thus, we clarify the effectiveness region of automatic steering and automatic breaking to avoid the collision with pedestrians.
