Maintenance Performance Improvement of Chiba Test Track 2.0 using Functional Paint

Abstract

The Chiba Test Line at the University of Tokyo was newly constructed as the Chiba Test Track 2.0 in March 2017.The performance test of functional paints on track were carried out in order to improve the aesthetics and maintenance performance. The water-base rust prevention paint were used for rust prevention purpose. The heat exchange paint was used for the purpose of suppressing track destruction due to thermal expansion and contraction of the rail. Data acquisition of the initial performance has been completed, and the long-term durability test is currently being executed.
