When conducting actual running tests of railway vehicles, the authors found that there was a difference in the bogie angle of the vehicle between hauling operation and propulsion one by a locomotive. It is considered important to understand the cause of this difference in behavior in the development of systems using bogie angle, which the authors are conducting. In this paper, in order to clarify this phenomenon, the effect of the difference between towing and propulsive running on the behavior of the vehicle was investigated by actual running tests on the test line in RTRI.
