Abstract

By using the rail/wheel high speed contact fatigue testing machine, we can observe approximate conditions like rail/wheel contact. Therefore, we test rail/wheel contact using this fatigue testing machine with discs having decarburized layers like new rail. Moreover, by observing metal texture of discs, we study an affection of decarburized layers for initial cracks existing on a rail surface.
