Abstract

Suspension tuning is an activity to adjust the setting of springs and dampers of a vehicle adequately. This activity is usually determined subjectively based on the human sensation of a test driver, and it is difficult to understand which vehicle behaviors are judged as good. As a solution for this issue, we proposed a method to extract features of vibration signals measured by an accelerometer with considering the subjective evaluation results by a professional test driver. A technique of cluster analysis is used in our method, which is often used in machine learning and data mining.
