Study of Rolling Contact Fatigue on Swing Nose Crossing

Abstract

RCF defects have been found on the surface of manganese steel swing nose crossings on Shinkansen line. Current inspection standards are based on the presence or absence of defects by visual inspection, so there are individual differences in judgement results. Clear manegement criteria are needed.
