Abstract

We developed the “RinGo,” a port-independent, ultra-compact foldable electric power-assisted kick scooter, based on UD evaluation of existing kick scooters and development of quality functions. In order to realize a design that “makes people want to boast about it” while demonstrating sufficient strength, this study devised a handle extension/retraction mechanism using the elasticity of resin and introduced a body structure that can be folded over by means of hinges and pins. Finally, we fabricated the body structure and evaluated its validity by actually applying a load of 100 kg or more. Since this study did not reach the stage of creating a handle, we will complete the handle, attach it to the vehicle body, and investigate the behavior of the vehicle body during driving. In addition, in order to meet legal standards, we will install various indicator lights, throttle mechanisms, and other electrical equipment associated with obtaining license plates, improve the steering wheel, and enhance the ability to climb over bumps.
