Abstract
A design support CAE system was developed to reduce production cost, weight, and design time of box structures. This system assists users in optimizing box structures using a genetic algorithm. This optimum method can construct new structures by exchanging parts in box structure for different shape parts in part database. We applied this system to optimum problems of stiffeners forming box structure and researched the convergence performance.
