Abstract
The prupose of this study was to clarify some elements of managerial behaviors in competitive swimming in the "Environmental Management" domains. We investigated what factors of coaching skills attach the most importance, and if they are putting their ideas into practice. The subjects of research are registered and approved by coaches of Japan Swimming Association in 1992. The method of research was done by questionnaires and they were sent and returned by mail. The number of effective answers were 425. According to the analysis of this empirical data, we found six principal factors; infomation, responsibility, human network, resources, planning and recruit in the "Environmental Management". From the results, principal factors indicating effectiveness of behaviors are found for "human network", "resources" and "planning". The results also suggest that the above factors are very important for the higher class of coaches.
