Preparation of Porous CeO₂ Catalysts Using Al–Ce Amorphous Alloys as Mother Alloys and Their Soot Combustion Reaction Activities

Abstract

The structure and catalytic properties of porous CeO₂ prepared from amorphous alloys by a dealloying method were investigated. The ligament shape of CeO₂ could be controlled by using amorphous Ce-Al alloys and crystalline alloys with different atomic arrangements as precursor alloys. The prepared samples showed excellent catalytic properties in soot combustion reactions.
