Abstract
The present paper is concerned with the effects upon the variation of plastic viscosity, of several properties of Kaolins. Six kinds of Kaolins were used. The plastic viscosity of Kaolin fluids increased in the order of the Kaolin A<the Kaolin B<the Kaolin C<the Kaolin E<the Kaolin F. The variation of the plastic viscosity of Kaolin fluids is considered to be connected with the apparent specific volume, the angle of repose, the specific surface area and the amount of oil absorption etc. of Kaolins.
On the other hand, the authors paid attention to flow curves, yield values and solid fraction in limiting concentration, φvc, in Fig. 8, of Kaolin fluids. The variation from a Newtonian fluid increased in the order of the Kaolin A<the Kaolin (A+F) the Kaolin F.
