Abstract

Investigation was made on the fatigue crack propagation behavior of plain woven glass cloth FRP subjected to zero-tension cyclic loading, especially to clarify the effects of initial crack length, glass fiber content and stress ratio.
As the result of this study, it was shown that the fatigue crack propagation of woven glass cloth FRP could be evaluated to some extent with the aid of the stress intensity factor modified by a compliance method. The effects of glass fiber content and stress ratio on fatigue crack propagation were discussed using the strain intensity factor and the maximum stress intensity factor, respectively.
