Abstract

Since 1998, the speaker has been performing oriental medical treatment such as Kampo medicine and acupuncture in all medical departments at the division of Kampo medicine and Acupuncture & Moxibustion of Oriental Medicine Research Center (currently Oriental Medicine Therapy Center of Kitasato University Kitasato Institute Hospital). I have experienced many diseases that could have been improved by using oriental medical diagnosis and appropriate oriental treatment measures, even for intractable neurological diseases that are difficult to diagnose and treat with modern medicine. In this symposium, in particular, it was explained that the effects of the tapping needling method like sparrow's pecking on the acupoint of Yamen (GV15) of the governor vessel, or on the “Bōkoku” of extra acupoint which is an discovered by the speaker, in the course of the Kitasato style meridian therapy with the meridian sinews therapy, are also effective in the treatment of refractory central nervous system diseases, based on treatment examples of essential tremor, slurred speech disorder, Parkinson disease, and tardive dyskinesia.
