Abstract
On July 7, 2024, I gave a lecture titled “Recommendation to Submit to the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma” at the 25th Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma held in Tsu City, Mie Prefecture. The present article summarizes the content of that lecture. Writing a paper has two key points: 1) contributing to medicine and society, and 2) promoting personal growth as a healthcare professional. The key points when writing a paper include: 1) understanding its significance and purpose, 2) following the structure of medical papers, 3) adhering to submission guidelines, and 4) clearly conveying your message. Case reports are also important, and clinicians should start by writing case reports. I discussed how to write a good case report.
