Abstract
In this paper, we describe the development of a simulation software which was created using an algorithm, for generating aiming surfaces that are able to automatically create tool paths for workpieces with an undercut part in simultaneous 5-axis control machining. Even though operators are not very familiar with machining, the software developed simulation program allows them to generate an aiming surface and a tool path without knowing the program's exact positions for the path. Machining with an aiming surface also has an indirect advantage of enabling the surface machining of work pieces with the side of a cutter. Optimal aiming has been successful in machining a workpiece with a complex shape and an undercut part such as an impeller in the simulation.
