Abstract
In the former paper we proposed a new shape modeling method, Sphere Density Method, one of the implicit shape representation for the conceptual shape design.
In this paper, we apply this method to 3-dimensional shape design and describe its characteristic features from the viewpoint of shape operations, and clarify that this method makes it easy to manipulate shapes in the conceptual shape design process. Then we propose a shape designing loop using the Sphere Density Method and show that this loop is effective for the designer to develop ideas of various shapes. Next we propose data structures and calculation methods that generate smooth surfaces from a voxel model. Finally we compared the calculation time and the surface quality of a shape in the different conditions.
