Abstract
Studies of plasma injection into cusped geometries using magnetic probes are reported. From measurements of the variation of axial field, Bz, we learned that injected plasmas excluded Bz up to 5 KG and the plasma were trapped inside the magnetic bottle when the exit cusp was more than 9 KG. Radial variations of the field were also measured and instantaneous distributions are obtained. As an auxiliary measurement, a Kerr-cell camera was also available. Number of shots confirmed behaiviors of plasmas observed from magnetic probes.
